Pilates Heights is an independent boutique fitness studio serving the Brooklyn community since 2014. We offer Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre, and Strength classes rooted in intentional movement, alignment, flow, and connection.
We don’t chase fitness trends or burnout culture. We focus on thoughtful coaching, sustainable strength, and helping people feel more at home in their bodies. Our small class sizes allow instructors to truly coach, connect, and personalize the experience for every client who walks through the door.
What We’re Looking For
We’re hiring a certified Pilates Reformer instructor with strong teaching fundamentals who is excited to grow into a Senior instructor position and teach 10+ classes per week within 6 months of hire. This role is part of our internal Lead Instructor Track, where instructors receive mentorship, coaching, and multi-modality training to grow as teachers, mentors, and future studio leaders.
Qualified candidates should either:
Already hold a Barre certification, or
Be excited to become Barre certified through our internal development program

Interested in taking on expanded leadership responsibilities, such as coaching and mentoring new instructors.

Responsibilities
Teach high-quality Reformer, Mat, Barre, and Strength training classes while leading an engaging, high-energy room.
Deliver a strong client experience rooted in alignment, flow, energy, and connection.
Create thoughtful, well-sequenced programming consistent with studio standards.
Provide clear, audible cueing, hands-on corrections, and client support throughout class.
Safely demonstrate exercises and movements with proper form and technique, remaining on feet for extended periods.
Participate in training, feedback, and ongoing instructor development.
Contribute positively to studio culture and team collaboration.
Qualifications
Current Pilates Reformer certification required
2+ years of group fitness teaching experience required
Strong understanding of movement, alignment, and client safety
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in managing a room and connecting with clients
Prior experience or interest in leadership, coaching, and instructor development
Compensation & Benefits
$50–$60 guaranteed flat rate per class, depending on experience and qualifications
